the beach. Whether a seascape or a close-up, these images illustrate the complexity of a world within a world. From shells to sand fence, migrating shore birds to sand patterns sculpted by the wind, these are among the sights found along most any beach, but especially along North Carolina's Outer Banks.
Common Shore Things often become highlights of our fondest memories of a visit to the beach. As a child collecting shells, watching the birds, spotting a crab with a flashlight at night, or digging for mole crabs along the surf
line were among my favorite activities. Infact, I still enjoy them to this day.
